Volunteer

You are invited to join in welcoming guests from around the state for the First Alaskans Institute Elders & Youth Conference, Welcome Potlatch and the Alaska Federation of Natives Annual Convention. There are a wide range of volunteer activities available, such as setting up at the Carlson Center and Big Dipper, stuffing delegate bags, greeting guests at the airport, potlatch servers at Big Dipper, registration assistance, lobby & door greeters, parking lot attendants and setting up for banquet at Carlson Center.

Volunteers are required to take a free Cross Cultural Communication Training class that covers the basics of communicating between cultures and offers tips on how to create a positive customer service experience using that information. A minimum 2.5-hour volunteer commitment is requested.

Volunteers will also need to attend an orientation just before the beginning of convention week. Click here to sign up.
